“I Wasn’t There — But I’m Still Holding Love”— For my father, whom I lost in a phone call, not in my heart.

I wasn’t there to hold your hand,
To watch you leave this living land.
No final hug, no warm goodbye,
Just stillness passed beneath the sky.

The phone rang once, my brother said,
A single breath — and you were dead.
No warning sign, no chance to run,
My world went dark, my voice went numb.

A thousand miles away from you,
And yet, my love still pulled me through.
Because love doesn’t need to stand nearby —
It travels farther than the sky.

You lived in all the quiet ways,
In steady hands, in silent praise.
And though your heart no longer beats,
Mine holds your rhythm underneath.

I feel you when I breathe in light,
When dreams arrive in softest night.
You are not lost — just out of view,
Still guiding all I say and do.

Though I missed your final day,
And fate took all the words I’d say —
You left me something strong and true:
The kind of love that lives right through.

I wasn’t there — but I still believe,
In love that never has to leave.
I hold you now in memory’s grace,
In every thought, in every place.

And if your soul can hear me too…
I love you — and we will meet soon.

“Holding love means never letting go — not even when life does.”
